How Sea Fend works
According to various international studies on maritime safety, around 80% of accidents at sea are linked to human error, while collisions and contact with obstacles, along with technical failures, are among the leading causes of serious structural damage.
The consequences are never just technical: an emergency at sea often means a traumatic experience on board, a costly and complex claim to deal with, damage to the marine environment and, for those who rely on their boat for work, a sudden interruption of their business.
Sea Fend was born from this reality.
Sea Fend is a patented buoyancy system, engineered for installation in the hull structure of both new and existing boats, minimizing impact on interior space while preserving the boat’s original design and performance.
The system is made up of airbags positioned inside bumpers, at the lowest part of the topsides below the waterline, kept compressed and inactive until activation.
In the event of a serious anomaly, such as a hull breach, a collision with a submerged object, or a failed through-hull fitting, the system can be activated manually from the helm or remotely via a dedicated app.
Once activated, the airbags inflate within minutes, generating enough hydrostatic lift to keep the boat afloat, allowing it to reach the nearest port or be towed safely.
